I had my own comic store by the era of 7 years. Those were being the days
before tv and the many other potential distractions that surround us today. My
comic book store consisted of more than 200 comics, that i read and again go
through and then when I got enough of re-reads I would get on my bicycle as well
as visit friends to complete a comic swap. We were holding exciting times
regarding we loved our few comic book characters and when the next version was
at the news store we would get their waiting to purchase them as they
arrived.
There was of course Monster and his amazing abilities and he had Xray eye
sight which made them seem almost mystical and add to that his or her ability to
fly and also lift trains along with intercept even plane in flight had myself
locked in as a believer and also follower However I believed he lost a little
class when Lois Road arrived on the scene.
Superman seemed to be the start of the leading man era of comic strips for me
and then emerged Captain Marvel and he was great then again Captain Marvel
Freshman got into the behave and his hero reputation was reduced around my
seven-year-old eyes. Best of all though was the Phantom, 'the ghosting who
walks',with his loyal wolf dog Devil who was his friend in battles. But I felt
let down when the Phantom's girlfriend came out. Why would an effective hero
like the Phantom desire a girlfriend I asked myself personally?
There were so many of most of these wonderful adventure amusing magazines in
those days along with that year associated with my childhood 1948 shiny things
cost about sixpence (five mere cents). Today I believe some sort of phantom
comic, in good shape, can be sold for over $6000! If only I had known my own 200
comic books which cost less than $20 would certainly now fetch regarding
$600000. I could have upon the market a lot earlier than I did so.
Other comics around my Comic Book Store were Mandrake and the Disney comic
strips of the day and I cherished them too. Mandrake the magician with his
faithful partner Lothar could do anything with some sort of wave of their hand
however this individual fell from grace a little with as they too had a partner
called Nardia. However regardless of whether my heroes been unsuccessful
somewhat by having a girl in their team I acquired used to it as well as kept
buying all of them and reading all of them and trading using friends and
eventually improved my mind completely about girls when I achieved the age of
14.
I actually miss that simple years where the comics were not filled with
extreme physical violence and graphic intercourse. They were simply great
adventures with a highly effective hero fighting unpleasant and winning. My
spouse and i loved that concerning my comic book store and maybe today's
children are missing something with all the iPods and tele and sensational
special effect movies which usually capture their curiosity where everything is
imagined for them. With the comics you had to imagine this voice and create the
experience in your mind from the images.
But this is an some guy talking and some might imagine it's an old grump
speaking but I loved our childhood and my personal comic book store and after
this, in my latter years, that era of the comic holds such wonderful memories of
an easy and safer world protected by the great comic heroes.
